The Puerto Rico Islanders look to win their third consecutive CFU (Caribbean Football Union) Club Championship. Puerto Rico will be playing with in the competition which will be held in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands from May 19th to the 26th. The current two-time CFU Champions will play in the same group as George Town, from the host country, Victory from Haiti and Caledonia AIA from Trinidad & Tobago.
"We are looking forward to defending our CFU title and we are trying to progress towards the group phase of the CONCACAF Champions League, but we can't get to ahead of ourselves. We have to focus on our matches in the Cayman Islands, where we should play against strong teams. We are going to be prepared and ready when we have to play six games in 13 daysin both NASL action and for the CFU Cup,” said Islanders head coach Adrian Whitbread.
The top two teams from each group will advance to a semi final, but only the Puerto Rico Islanders, Caledonia AIA, W Connection and Barracudas, from Antigua and Barbuda are eligible for the three spots into the CONCACAF Champions League.
