The Carolina RailHawks have announced the addition of Nick Millington and Jamie Finch to the roster. Both players come to the RailHawks after successful collegiate careers. A native of Raleigh, N.C., and a former member of the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL), Millington played for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Elon University. Finch traveled across the country after contributing for four years at the University of Washington.
Millington spent extensive time with the U-18 U.S. Men’s National Team. He played collegiately at Wake Forest and Elon. During his collegiate career he was a dominating player and a leader in the midfield. While at Wake Forest, Millington played alongside fellow RailHawks Akira Fitzgerald, Austin Da Luz, and Zack Schilawski. At Elon he played with RailHawks starting defender, Austen King.
Finch helped to solidify the Washington Huskies’ defense for four years, appearing in a total of 70 matches while recording 11 assists. He was named to the First-Team Pac-10/12 All-Academic list all four years as well as the 2011 All-Pac-12 First Team in his senior year. Finch was drafted by the Columbus Crew in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft but did not sign a contract.
“Nick and Jamie are talented players that are starting their professional careers after enjoying success at the collegiate level,” said Head Coach Colin Clarke. “They will add depth to our roster and are capable of making an impact for our team.”
Millington, Finch and the rest of the RailHawks return to WakeMed Soccer Park on May 19th at 7 p.m. The RailHawks will take on the Puerto Rico Islanders in their second match up of the season.
