North American Soccer League converges on Indianapolis for Annual General Meeting

The evolution of the North American Soccer League continues this week in Indianapolis when owners, executives, coaches and staff from an expanding number of teams gather at the NASL Annual General Meeting on Thursday and Friday.

Commissioner Bill Peterson, appointed in December to spearhead the direction of the new NASL, will lead a series of meetings and forums this week at the AGM.  Peterson will host NASL coaches at a breakfast on Thursday morning before joining a Board of Governors meeting and then will oversee meetings and business presentations.

“We are less than three months away from the opening kick of the Spring Season, so this opportunity to meet as an organization is critical to our success,” said Peterson.  “Teams and departments will brainstorm and share ideas as we finalize our plans for 2013, which promises to be a landmark year.”

The sales, marketing, operations, public relations, ticketing and finance departments of the NASL and its teams will all hold breakout sessions and will also have an opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich soccer fever that hits Indianapolis this week.

The NASL will exhibit at the 66th annual National Soccer Coaches Association of America Convention and invites delegates to visit Stand 4413 at the from Thursday through Saturday.  Billed as the world's largest annual gathering of soccer coaches, each year the NSCAA Convention draws 10,000 attendees during a five-day period and the exhibit portion of the Convention annually showcases more than 270 exhibitors covering 600,000 square feet, making it the largest soccer trade show in North America.  Major League Soccer will hold its annual SuperDraft within the NSCAA Convention on Thursday.

The 2013 NASL Spring Season kicks off on Saturday, April 6.  The team that tops the standings at the summer break will host the 2013 Soccer Bowl on the weekend of November 16/17 when they will be joined by the Fall Season champion.  For more information visit NASL.com or follow us on Twitter @NASLOfficial
