Norkus surprises Fernandez right before “Community Shield” match kickoff

The Carolina RailHawks 1-0 victory over the New England Revolution wasn’t the only event that took place at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday night. Just minutes before kickoff, defender Caleb Norkus proposed to girlfriend Danielle Fernandez in front of over 2,000 fans.

Danielle and Caleb met at Stanley Dentistry, a proud sponsor of the Carolina RailHawks, and began seeing each other last August when they reconnected when Danielle sang the National Anthem before a RailHawks game. They have been inseparable ever since and even went to the Dominican Republic together on a mission trip that saw Norkus connect with underprivileged youth from Haiti and the Dominican Republic through soccer.

The date has been set for July 4th and the Carolina RailHawks organization wishes all the best to the happy couple.
