The NASL Team of the Week is selected based on performances each weekend and features the best XI players in their respective positions.

Here is this week’s Best XI:

Goalkeeper

Akira Fitzgerald, Carolina RailHawks – Earned his fifth NASL shutout of the year, while making several saves in the victory over Tampa Bay

Defenders

Ayoze, New York Cosmos – Spaniard was solid in the New York backline

Jonathan Borrajo, San Antonio Scorpions – Shut down any attack on his side defensively and was involved in several offense pushes

Lance Laing, FC Edmonton – Jamaican was once again impressive on both sides of the field and scored, while adding an assist in the win against Fort Lauderdale

Ryan Richter, Ottawa Fury FC – Controlled the defensive line in the victory over Indy

Midfielders

Cesar Elizondo, San Antonio Scorpions – Costa Rican was strong influence on the offense and scored his first goal with the club

Daniel Mendes, Minnesota United FC – Brazilian provided an attacking spark for Minnesota

Walter Restrepo, San Antonio Scorpions – Controlled the midfield attack and scored the game-winner via penalty kick against Atlanta

Sinisa Ubiparipovic, Ottawa Fury FC – Bosnia & Herzegovina native notched the winning goal against Indy

Forwards

Tiyi Shipalane, Carolina RailHawks – South African scored his fourth goal of the year and third game-winner

Chad Burt, FC Edmonton – His second consecutive assist in as many weeks lead to the game-winner against Fort Lauderdale
