RailHawks to Host the U.S. Women’s National Team on August 20th

The Carolina RailHawks announced today they have come to an agreement with U.S. Soccer to host the U.S. Women’s National Team on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 as they face Switzerland in preparation for the 2015 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. The game will take place at WakeMed Soccer Park and it is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30pm.

“The RailHawks, in coordination with the Town of Cary, are thrilled to host the U.S. Women’s National Team vs. Switzerland game here at world class WakeMed Soccer Park,” said RailHawks President Curt Johnson. “We anticipate that this World Cup preparation match will sell out and encourage fans to purchase tickets during the presale phase in order to make sure they do not miss out.”

Prior to tickets going on sale to the general public, the RailHawks will be offering a USWNT 2-Game Pack that includes a ticket to the U.S. Women’s National Team match and a ticket to a RailHawks match of choice for as low as $35. Purchase your USWNT 2-Game Pack starting on Monday July 21st by calling the RailHawks Box Office at 919-459-8144.

Tickets for the U.S. Women’s National Team match against Switzerland will go on-sale to the general public Friday, July 25th at 10:00am ET through, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and at all Ticketmaster ticket centers throughout the Triangle area.

The growing popularity of the U.S. Women’s National Team has been evident with an average of over 14,000 fans per home game in 2014. To secure a seat to the U.S. Women’s National Team match at WakeMed Soccer Park (seating capacity: 10,000), purchase your USWNT 2-Game Pack during the special presale phase that starts on Monday, July 21st.

Season Ticket Holders for the 2014 RailHawks Season will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to this match during a special presale starting on Tuesday, July 22nd. Information on how to purchase during the presale will be sent to Season Ticket Holders prior to July 22nd.

Please note that individual Tickets will not be available for purchase at WakeMed Soccer Park until the day of game.

The U.S. Women’s National Team is currently ranked #1 in the world and comes into the match with a 7W-3D-2L record in 2014. Switzerland, which is currently ranked #19, is one of the only six nations that have already qualified for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
